Remember?  
The one who first greeted you.  
Made it feel like home.

Do you remember me?  
I showed you a way.  
Taught you tricks.  
Introduced you to so many.

Don’t you remember?

I think you remember.  
I was your first friend.  
I think you told me that.  
I made it less lonely.  
Made it easier to get around.

I hope you remember.

I showed you what worked.  
You made new friends.  
Maybe we grew apart.  
I guess.  
But you never forgot.

Right?

Hey, I hope you’re getting these.  
It’s your old friend.  
The one you said made a difference.  
I hope things are going well for you.  
I’m glad you’re getting along.

You know me, right?

I don’t mean to ask much,  
But maybe, just maybe,  
you could let me know  
I’m not forgotten.  
If you wouldn’t mind.

Hey hey, it’s still me.  
I just wondered:  
Did you get the last few messages?  
I get busy and forget sometimes,  
too.

I know it was hard for you at first.  
I never did anything to get something,  
but I’d be grateful if you said hi.  
I just feel a little down.  
They say to be ready for storms.  
The wind’s picking up,  
and the sky's gotten cloudy.

I just want to know  
that I mattered.

I guess I get it,  
and I (try not to) take it personally.  
I just need you  
the way you said you needed me.

Do you remember?

I don’t trust my memory now.

A first friend.  
Someone who’s glad they know me.  
To remind me I matter.

I hoped you’d let me know,  
But I don’t mean to burden.  
I’m not mad as much as  
sad,  
and I guess I feel a little used.

But I don’t think you remember me.

Tell me I’m wrong.

Please.
