Support Me

the mirror’s reflection
the sound in the voicemail
the thoughts in my mind
the words written

they’re not me

the water in the glass
the toothpaste on the brush
the pain in the headaches
the playlist on the phone

they aren’t me

the shadow across from me
the dreams i don’t remember

the loss i can’t find
or know when it went

missing

not me

i’m the voice i don’t know
the selfie i hate
the tone that makes me cry

i’m the shoes i never wore
the clothes that aren’t familiar
the texts i never sent

i’m the ghost of maybe
the words i never said
and i wish i hadn’t

the actions i regret
and wish i’d taken

haunted

by what if

and regret

i’m not what i was
or what i thought I knew

i can't fix it
i don’t even know where
to begin

i’m two left gloves
lost in the memories
but i can’t remember what

i’m past the shadow
to the dark
beyond the gaze
past the grasp

fading into the distance

as you

forget

me
