Nothing Can Bury Me
You can drown me, burn me, and bury me. The mistake is believing any will keep me gone.

I’m the man on the moon,
With my mind in the clouds,
I’m not landing soon,
Leave yourself no doubt.
The earth can’t contain me,
I’m too much for most,
Nothing can bury me,
I’ve become a ghost.
This world is built of sticks,
Ready to break apart,
All I need are these candle wicks,
To make all the cosmos restart.

Pour gasoline on the wood
Strike up a match,
It’s what you should,
The blaze won’t leave a scratch
A shadow of who I was,
But I’m finding me again,
What I do and what he does,
It’s not an if but a when.
Pull me from that lake,
Where they try to keep me,
You thought I’d break,
I rise defiantly.
You thought I’d sleep with the fish,
Down in the deep blue,
You got your wish,
But you forgot what I do.
I put in time like a dog,
I stare you down with a smirk,
I’ll breathe through the smog,
I’ll do all the work.

No pond can drown me,
The fire won’t hurt,
This isn’t an ending,
But put the shovel in the dirt.
I’m in the sky,
But my feet are here,
I tell no lies,
I’m always near.
No matter which coast,
Or if I wake up tomorrow,
I’ll be your ghost,
So have no sorrow.
